Become a Girl Scout Volunteer
Our volunteers bring a wide variety of expertise, skills, life experiences and interests - all to help the girls and young women of Girl Scouts achieve their dreams! We have many volunteer opportunities available, and Girl Scout volunteers work together with the council staff to nurture each girl's individuality and leadership qualities.
And being a Girl Scout volunteer may surprise you! Just like the girls, our volunteer program offers you a variety of pathways to fit your interests, lifestyle and schedule. You can volunteer with special events or series; camps; travel opportunities; as a troop leader or co-leader; or even with virtual Girl Scouting. You can volunteer YOUR way!
Whether you choose to work directly or indirectly with the girls on a short-term or long-term basis, you will get all the instruction, guidance and support that you will need to fulfill the responsibilities of your volunteer role successfully as you guide girls through the Girl Scout Leadership Experience.
Anyone over 18 is welcome - including guys!
Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers can be a part of the Girl Scout Leadership experience through different pathways and opportunities. They include:
- Camp: Share your appreciation of nature. Hike. Bike. Canoe. You can camp by day or overnight.
- Events: Have high energy but limited availability? Choose your favorite topics and help girls unleash their potential.
- Series: Love the environment? Building a business? Marine biology? Meet with girls 6 to 8 times sharing your passion and knowledge in a way that fits your schedule.
- Travel: Expand girls' horizons. Whether you help plan a trip across the state or around the world, you'll all remember the adventure forever.
- Troop: Partner with girls who meet regularly as they share amazing experiences and make a difference in their community and the world.
- Virtual: Girl Scouting via the internet? Hey, it's 2010. Become a virtual volunteer and help bring exciting interactive activities to girls everywhere.
